There's a growing number of FOSS audio apps that have implemented support for 'NSM' (formerly Non Session Manager[1], now New Session Manager[2] after a freenode #lad dev community fork a few months ago). It's an OSC based system that allows the state of all apps involved in a production/performance session to be saved (in an NSM session directory) for easy saving/snapshotting/restoring of the state/configuration of such a multi-app project. Some related info is also on the project wiki[3]. One of the parts of the picture a few of producers/developers have noted is missing is a text editor that can be used to keep project notes of various sorts saved along with the rest of the session. I was wondering if this feature could be something Kate could maybe implement at some point in the future? I am not sure if that really is that interesting for a text editor, but if somebody would provide a patch, one could think about adding it.
I think this is out of scope for us, sorry.
