SUMMARY The virtual desktop settings dialog contains unexpected behavior RE the management of created virtual desktops. Users that create virtual desktops and populate them with applications are unable to re-order their created desktops within a row, but also not able to move virtual desktops from one row to another. Instead, users are forced to get it right the first time - or to wipe their arrangement and start over if they want to optimize their layout. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Virtual Desktops settings found in System Settings -> Workspace Behavior -> Virtual Desktops 2. Add a first virtual desktop; name it desktop 1 3. Add a second virtual desktop; name it desktop 2 4. (optional): add a row OBSERVED RESULT The order of these desktops cannot be changed after they are created. EXPECTED RESULT Users configuring their virtual desktops should be able to change the order, as well as what virtual desktops belong to what rows from the virtual desktop settings. poweruser usecase: I use Virtual Desktops (Workspaces) akin to tabs in browser windows: a new task arises, I make a Virtual Desktop for it I open lots of different apps and browser windows then the task might go down/up in importance and I'd like to rearrange my workspaces accordingly mouse drag on the Panel applet would be awesome, just like in browsers/file managers

Instead of opening another issue, I shall express support for this one. This is desperately needed
Came to express support for this. On my PC I never really understood the need for this, but on my laptop this is something I keep instinctively trying to do and cannot.
Great idea +1
Hello, I see this is specifically related to Plasma 5 but I have the same request on Plasma 6. Should I open a different case for it?
No, we aren't tracking Plasma 5 and Plasma 6 bugs and feature requests separately.
+1 from me as well, thanks.
