In the French translation, “Add New” -> “Workbook” is « &Feuille de travail » and “Worksheet” is « Feuille de &travail » (different hotkey but same text). I had to restart the application with LC_ALL=C to know what each of them was supposed to be.

(As an aside, the date format is also not correct for this locale. `date` returns something that looks more like: « mer 16 sep 2020 17:36:45 CEST »)

We released 2.8 today - https://labplot.kde.org/2020/09/16/labplot-2-8-released/. Can you please check the status of the French translation? If the issues still persist, we'll ask the translators for help.

Oh, thank you for the pointer. I just tried 2.8.0 and the situation seems identical in both respects. I have updated the “version” field accordingly.

Thanks for reporting the issue.
I started a discussion in https://webchat.kde.org/#/room/#kde-francophone:kde.org to find a good translation for Workbook.
It is translated with "Feuille de travail" later in the translation but it would be more like a collection of spreadsheets, matrices and plots.

Thanks for taking care of it! Please note, a workbook is only for spreadsheets and matrices. I documented this on https://userbase.kde.org/LabPlot/DataContainers/Workbook now. Plots are created in a "Worksheet". Spreadsheets and Matrices can be grouped together into a "Workbook".
