Description 이야기 2020-09-16 12:16:47 UTC
SUMMARY
Hangul is not written in the title clip.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. I had no problem writing Korean.
However, Korean language is not used recently.
2. Even in versions 2020.08.0 and 19.12.0 where the Korean language is well written, Korean language is not used now.
3. Not in the UIM I'm using and not in Ibus.

OBSERVED RESULT
The Korean and English conversion keys do not work.

EXPECTED RESULT
Hangul is not written even when converted manually.

You are unable to type Hangul (Korean alphabets) in Kdenlive, but this bug is not present in versions 2020.08.0 and 19.12.0. Is this correct?

I am not good at English.
That's not what I meant.
Previously, it was written in Korean in 2020.08.0 and 19.12.0.
But...
I can't write in 2020.08.0 and 19.12.0 now.

2020.08.1 also cannot write Korean.

Do you mean the user interface is no longer in Korean now?

How did you installed Kdenlive? AppImage or distro specific package?
Comment 6 Shinjo Park 2020-09-19 17:41:58 UTC
If it is installed via AppImage then the root cause might be the same as #415420. Otherwise it would be different.

I've used 2020.08.0.appimage and 19.12.0.appimage so far in the UIM(uim-byeoru) framework.
Hangul was used without any problems.

Hangul has not been written since it recently came in.

Why is support for multilingual input systems still inadequate?

Because the QT developer is English speaking
Is there any problem if they use it well?
QT developers seem to have a problem.

Even in Steam, Korean is not written.
Is this the QT developer's ability problem?

Versions I used:
2020.08.0.appimage , 19.12.0.appimage , 2020.08.1.flatpak

If I understand you correctly, Hangul (the Korean alphabet) cannot be used/ is not working in the title window. If so, please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 23.08.4 to see if it is fixed https://kdenlive.org/en/download/ .

The Korean/English switching key does not work.

Hangul uses uim-byeoru.
uim-byeoru : https://github.com/uim/uim/issues/196

Not even in Kime.
https://github.com/Riey/kime/issues/648

It's the same in games
Games that do not support Korean do not allow Korean input.
It's the same phenomenon.

This should make the Korean/English keys work.
Comment 12 emohr 2024-01-07 17:44:45 UTC
You mean, when you switch on system level the keyboard layout from English to Korean layout (Shift+Spacebar), Kdenlive doesn’t react on that switch. Right?
