some padding issues

SUMMARY

setting a small font size(eg. lato 8, google sans 9) leads to weird button and layout padding in plasmashell/widgets/notifcations

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. set the general font size to lato 8, google sans 8 or noto sans 8

OBSERVED RESULT
some parts of krunner(settings icon padding), notifications(titlebar buttons) and the calendar widget(see attached screenshot) don't have consistent padding anymore
play/pause buttons on the lockscreen are also affected, as is the 'create activity' button on the bottom of the activity sidebar switcher

EXPECTED RESULT

the padding should stay consistent with layout/icon sizes even when using a small font, icons shouldn't overlap with lines. If the font is smaller than the smallest icon size padding shouldn't decrease anymore

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
this was better on 5.18, I guess it's a change introduced somewhere in 5.19.X.
however if I remember correctly padding of the calendar widget was slightly off already in 5.18
this happens with every plasmashell theme I tried

What version of KDE frameworks do you have? 5.74 or 5.73 or something earlier?

If you clear the SVG cache with rm ~/.cache/*plasma* and then restart plasmashell with `plasmashell --replace` does it get any better?
Comment 2 maxmustermann1884 2020-09-15 16:19:53 UTC
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.74.0
Qt Version: 5.15.1
Kernel Version: 5.8.8-arch1-1
OS Type: 64-bit

cleared cache with your command and then replaced plasmashell, notifications look nice again now, but no changes with krunner and calendar widget

I guess this is fixed, I can't reproduce this bug anymore
