SUMMARY
SMS application is only showing phone numbers, and no names.  Trying to figure out what I'm missing

EXPECTED RESULT
Names should also sync when refreshing.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
KDE Connect SMS on Kubuntu 20.04 works perfectly fine.

Hi,

Can you please make sure kpeople-vcard is installed? I don't know how the Neon package is set up so it may not get pulled in automatically.

If if is installed, please check ~/.local/share/kpeoplevcard for a folder named kdeconnect-<device id> which should contain a bunch of .vcf files. If there is no such folder or no .vcf files, please make sure the contacts plugin is enabled on the phone and the desktop.

That was missing.  Thanks!  Maybe have that package installed automatically when installing KDE Connect SMS?

Glad to hear this was the problem. We do not control how the packaging is done and Ubuntu/Neon have a particular view about optional dependencies. You could contact the package maintainer with this suggestion, though
