Description David 2020-09-11 18:36:18 UTC
SUMMARY
After updates of not sure what specific software, the RedShift applet is now not working correctly anymore, in the sense that it doesn't automatically switch to the configured night color according to the time of the day unless I manually change some setting and apply the changes, in which case it then changes color for the rest of the session.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Put the redshift widget in some panel.
2. Configure the redshift widget to have a night color with different temperature for the night, and configure it to shift to the night color automatically.
3. Wait until it becomes night.

OBSERVED RESULT
Should switch the color temperature according to the night shift.

EXPECTED RESULT
Doesn't switch to the night color, unless I manually go to the settings, change something, and then click Ok.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Nate Graham 2020-09-28 20:14:30 UTC
Redshift itself is not a KDE app, even though we have a config UI for it. You'll want to report this to the Redshift devs.

Note that we also have our own native version of this feature called Night Color, so you may not need to use Redshift at all unless it has extra features that you're using which Night color lacks. :)
Comment 2 David 2020-09-28 20:17:16 UTC
It does have very useful additional features that the KDE one is lacking, such as controlling brightness level in both day and night periods.
