Description Yaroslav Sidlovsky 2020-09-10 14:31:06 UTC
SUMMARY
After update to KDEConnect-20.08.1 I can't anymore browse telephone files with Dolphin.

But still I can browse files after navigating to the path "/var/run/user/1000/<TEL ID>/".

Also downgrading to the kdeconnect-20.08.0 resolves the problem.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open path "kdeconnect:/" in Dolphin;
2. Double click on telephone icon.

OBSERVED RESULT
After steps described above I still see telephone icon, while path is changed to the "kdeconnect://1f6b9c0561593abb/".

EXPECTED RESULT
I'll see shared directories of my telephone.

This should actually be fixed already in kio 5.74.1 I think:

On Neon Unstable, the update today solved this problem for me, I can now browse device and see folders and subfolders as expected, no longer just a phone icon.

New Version:
kdeconnect-20.08.1+p20.04+git20200916.0255-0.amd64

I don't know when this will be available in other channels.

I find it more likely that the latest changes in kio (see comment#6) fixed it though, especially as they explicitly mention problems with kdeconnect.
(and I don't see any relevant change in kdeconnect itself)

Older kdeconnect versions were likely not affected as they didn't mark the class as local yet, this was changed in 20.08.1 (as a fix for bug#425948) which apparently triggered the problem (in kio).

Anyway, I think this bug report can be closed then.

Got it, thanks.
