SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Check blur option in desktop effects in system settings. 2. Go to compositors and change compositor to OpenGl 3.1 or 2 based on current one (toggle version b/w the 2). 3. Move cursor to any element on screen. OBSERVED RESULT Bottom panel does not remain blurred. When moving cursor to any element on screen, the blur flickers if cursor is quickly moved away to an empty space. If cursor remains on any element for some amount of time blur disappears completely. Same behavior when compositor is toggled to OpenGl 3.1 or 2. EXPECTED RESULT Bottom panel remains blurred. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.19 User Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.73.0 Qt Version: 5.14.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have made some customizations but I don't remember if the blur effects worked before I applied them.
Seems like a graphical issue rather than a panel or theme issue. What's your graphical hardware situation? NVIDIA? AMD Intel GPU? Something else?
Blur is working fine with the Layan look & feel theme. The issue only occurs with breeze themes, at least based on what I know since I haven't tested it on other themes. Configuration: CPU: Intel Core i7-8550U GPU: a. Intel UHD Graphics 620 b. AMD Radeon 530
Hmm, that's odd.
Can I ask if you're able to reproduce this issue in Plasma 5.27? Thanks a lot!
