Missing album art after waking up

SUMMARY

Album art disappears in the library and "now playing" area after logging back in from sleep.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Elisa window
2. Put computer to sleep
3. Log back in

OBSERVED RESULT

I just installed Kubuntu 20.04 and started using pre-installed Elisa for the first time. I noticed that after I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up again, all of the album art displayed in the Elisa window goes solid black. In the "Albums" library this art reappears when I scroll down to other albums and then scroll back up, but in the top of the window the "Now Playing" album stays black. This happens whether or not the Elisa window is minimized.

EXPECTED RESULT

Album art continues to display.

That's extremely odd. It looks like the sidebar list item icons disappeared too.

By any chance are you using the Proprietary Nvidia driver with Nvidia graphics hardware?
Comment 4 Norbert Keliher 2020-11-11 02:17:09 UTC
Yes, I am using the proprietary Nvidia drivers for my graphics card.
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2020-11-11 05:09:03 UTC
I had a feeling, because this is a common thing that happens when the Nvidia driver goes belly-up with openGL stuff. You'll want to report this to the Nvidia developers. There isn't anything we can do here, sorry.
