Created attachment 131366 [details] Virtual Keyboard problems with lock screen 1 There are two problems : 1) When I enable virtual keyboard in lock screen the keyboard hides the password field so it's impossible to see what is typed. See attached image for more info. 2) When I enable lock screen then click by mouse on virtual keyboard button, the keyboard appears (green light on the button), then I click on the same button to disable the keyboard, but after I left click by mouse on password field the virtual keyboard keeps appearing even it's disabled. See attached video for more info. Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.73.0 Qt Version: 5.15.0 Kernel Version: 5.8.3-2-MANJARO OS Type: 64-bit

Can you share your screen resolution please so I can reproduce.

I encountered just the same problem after recent updates. Besides, the login button in the screenlocker UI is much smaller than before, almost thin as a line. My OS is also Manjaro Linux, with screen resolution 1920*1200.
We are not longer using or supporting the Qt virtual keyboard and are recommending the use of the maliit virtual keyboard instead. Does using it fix these issues?

Does using it > fix these issues? The first problem is resolved, but the second is still persistent, once virtual keyboard is activated (it cannot be disabled) it will always appears even when user click by mouse inside password field. This causes problem when user locks screen then clicks on virtual keyboard and hides it, if user plugs in a keyboard and a mouse and tries to click on password field the virtual keyboard will always show. Before, virtual keyboard had a green indicator that shows if it's enabled or not, now once user click on virtual keyboard button it will always be enabled.
OK, so these are legit bugs, but not bugs in the screen locker per se. They are generic problems that need to be solved in the UI components that handle input. Can you file a new bug report on frameworks-plasma | components? Thanks!

This problem was reported on X11, so it concerns only virtual keyboard on lockscreen.
