virtual box display problem

SUMMARY

I have a dual display setup with monitors of different resolution.
I have global scaling enabled and set to 175 %

when I start some applications like vlc, virtualbox, dragonplayer, kate the content of the application is not drawn properly and the content of the window (menus button etc) is unusable/unreactive. Resizing the window does not refresh the window (see ttached screenshot of virtualbox

now when I disable one screen OR set the global scaling to 100 % the paint problems go away.

when I mess with the backend renderer the problem does not go away.

setting the scaling to 100% and using the fonts to scale is a workaround but it does not increase the size of visual elements like scrollbars which remain rather small.

KDE Frameworks 5.68.0
Qt 5.12.8 (built against 5.12.8)
The xcb windowing system

Since the time this bug has been filed there have been many scaling fixes in KWin and Qt.This should be fixed now. Please reopen if otherwise
