Created attachment 131310 [details] Search with accents SUMMARY When looking for apps/configuration/... KRunner and the Plasma launcher take the accents (ex : é) into account, which can be annoying. Usecase : In attached file, I am trying to quickly open the Display Settings (Affichage et écran in french), so I type 'ecra', and the launcher does'nt find anything. I must type 'écra' so that it finds it. It would be great if the search ignores accents (in any languages). For comparison, GNOME handles this properly. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set your Plasma to french (or whatever language with accents) 2. Press Alt+F1 (or launch KRunner) 3. type 'ecra' OBSERVED RESULT No Result match the french word 'écran'. EXPECTED RESULT Results containing the french word 'écran', for instance "Capture d'écran" or "Verrouillage de l'écran" SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 18.04 / Arch Linux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.9 / 5.19 KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
