Description tguen 2020-08-28 05:55:35 UTC
I set my keyboard's sleep key to turn my screen off. This worked fine when I was using Nvidia drivers with my old GTX 960. At some point I replaced it with a Radeon 5600XT with Mesa drivers. Immediately after this change, pressing the sleep key shuts the screen off as usual, but it turns itself back on after 1-10 seconds. I have the same problem if I run `xset dpms force off` from a terminal, or if I wait 10 minutes for the screen to turn off automatically.

I booted Kubuntu from a usb drive and the issue still occurs. I also tried Ubuntu and Xubuntu, and the problem does not occur on Gnome or XFCE.

---

May be related to #423035, but that specifies using a shortcut. My issue occurs any time the screen turns off.

May be related to #348082, although that is old and only mentions the lock screen.

Happens on my configuration with RX 590 and both mesa and mesa-git (22.1.0). I am using KDE Plasma (5.24.4) from kde-unstable repo but it also happens on Manjaro and Kubuntu.
