Created attachment 131050 [details] Images when audio device is detected and when no Mi laptop is shut down. I startup Manjaro with KDE. When I start session, the audio device icon shows is not exist. Open the tray and doesn't show up there. I found out that when I connect jack connector from earphone, the device immediately appears and if I disconnect it, then appear the inner audio device from laptop. In other words, to solve it, it's needed to connect jack connector. Before last update this didn't happen. I'm using the testing branch. Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.73.0 Qt Version: 5.15.0 Kernel Version: 5.8.1-3-MANJARO OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz Memory: 15.4 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 620
I'm 99% sure that the update which broke this was not anything in KDE, but rather something in PulseAudio, as PulseAudio is responsible for this detection. Can you re-file this bug over on the PulseAudio bug tracker: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/issues Thanks! If they say it's not their fault, we can re-open this and continue the investigation here.
Thanks Nate for your time. I drop here the open bug's url to Pulseaudio for anyone who wants to see it. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/-/issues/969 Until then there's to hope their answer.
I saw this issue 2 days ago on neon unstable. I restarted plasma session and then just the internal microphone of my laptop was detected. Sometimes no sound device is detected at all (see bug 425391).
Yes, it's a bit random Patrick and only detects the device sometimes. For example, whether I close the laptop lid and leave as before or when I insert a jack connector too.
