SUMMARY

It would be great to have option to filter images by orientation (portrait/landscape), resolution, ISO or other photo characteristics.

For some purposes user needs to find image of proper orientation to fit what he needs it for so filtering by orientation makes sense. Sometimes he needs images that are equal or greater than some resolution. For photographers that do lots of shots of the same object with different camera settings, it would be good to be able to filter images by ISO, aperture or other photo characteristics.

I could not find in documentation or application that this is possible.

All of these things you want are possible in the advanced search.

You can filter your images by doing a search.

Well, Advanced Search is option I am looking for.

I was struggling with left and right frames trying to somehow select photos i need and found it very uncomfortable and not functional.

Advanced Search does all that I need. It should be presented somewhere that is easily accessible and obvious, and possibly set to be open as default instead both left and right frames.

Left and right sidebar are short access to specific king of contents from your collections. The filter view from the right sidebar is a tool to sort and filter item from the current view accordingly with photo properties. It's ont a search tool, it's a filtering tool, even if the Advanced search tool can use the same criteria.

The concept of Advanced Search is to create complex request to the database and to save result in virtual album which can be replayed later.

I close this file now.

I am ware of difference on search and filtering. Thing there should be no difference in criteria, ti is just matter hos data is handled.

I do not object. Search suits me. It is just it does not have to be buried so deep and harder to access and use.
