Hi, I don't have a macOS to test, so I assigned it to Timothée, maybe he'll be able to help
This is weird, here the application launches properly, using macOS 10.13.6 too, and I had report from other users that it works fine for them too. It could be an issue with the OpenGL support on your computer... Please try this: -open the configuration file gcompris-qt.conf with TextEdit (or another simple text editor of your choice), which is in /Users/username/Library/Preferences/gcompris/ -replace the line renderer=auto with renderer=software -save the file, and restart gcompris This will activate the software-rendering mode, which is not using OpenGL at all. I hope this will fix this issue on your computer. Side note: while checking again, I noticed that actually I didn't sign properly the latest application (the .dmg was signed but not the .app inside). I just fixed it and updated a new .dmg . It was probably not the cause of your issue, but it's still better to have it properly signed...
Hi, can you also run it in command line and check if there are logs outputted? Thank you
Created attachment 130694 [details] attachment-31997-0.html Thank you for your kind response. I have actually removed the apps, and reinstalled it, still the same. In the past (last week), it actually working, but starting yesterday, it did not work anymore. I have run it with the command prompt, and got this log. /Applications/gcompris-qt.app/Contents/MacOS/gcompris-qt exeCount set to: 41 qml: enter main.qml (run #41, ratio=1.5384615384615385, fontRatio=2.1621621621621623, dpi=114, userDataPath=/Users/hendrakwee/Library/Application Support/GCompris) Downloading resource file "data2/voices-aac/voices-en_US.rcc" Downloading resource file "data2/backgroundMusic/backgroundMusic-aac.rcc" Successfully registered resource "/Users/hendrakwee/Library/Caches/KDE/gcompris-qt/data2/backgroundMusic/backgroundMusic-aac.rcc" Found box2d in "/Applications/gcompris-qt.app/Contents/lib/qml" qt.qpa.window: Window position QRect(332,-1073741412 615x-2147483648) outside any known screen, using primary screen invalid window content view size, check your window geometry Local resource is up-to-date: "voices-en_US.rcc" Successfully registered resource "/Users/hendrakwee/Library/Caches/KDE/gcompris-qt/data2/voices-aac/voices-en_US.rcc" Local resource is up-to-date: "backgroundMusic-aac.rcc" any suggestion? thank you best regards Hendra On Thu, Aug 6, 2020 at 10:36 PM Jazeix Johnny <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425062 > > --- Comment #3 from Jazeix Johnny <jazeix@gmail.com> --- > Hi, > > can you also run it in command line and check if there are logs outputted? > > Thank you > > -- > You are receiving this mail because: > You reported the bug.
Please can you try to remove your ~/.config/gcompris* files? (I don't know the exact path on mac OS but there should be a gcompris-qt.conf inside your ~/.config)
Created attachment 130698 [details] attachment-664-0.html I could not find the file. In a directory with that has file gcompris-qt.conf only has one more file gcompris-qt.conf.cBZctP While in directory ~/.config/ there are 2 directories: gtk-2.0 inkscape On Fri, Aug 7, 2020, 1:24 PM Jazeix Johnny <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425062 > > --- Comment #5 from Jazeix Johnny <jazeix@gmail.com> --- > Please can you try to remove your ~/.config/gcompris* files?
