I think you added a screenshot of this bug report rather than the error message yo were seeing. > OBSERVED RESULT > Failed to get a list of devices: forbidden > ADDITIONAL INFORMATION > Cups error: NO root passwd Seems like the printing system is configured to require the elevated privileges, but it didn't get them. Did it ask for your password at all during the process?
Created attachment 130762 [details] printer_failure1.png Yes, CUPS asked for a root password which is not set during a Kubuntu 20.04 install. Change root passwd by using sudo. Then changes are accepted using user root. User name/passwd is not accepted and results in failure. 18.04 work perfect, don't know what changed but most users wouldn't know how to do this. The print errors are attached
We believe this is fixed in a later version of Plasma5 and the recently released Plasma6. Can you retest this and report back?

I think all Plasma5 versions will have this problem, in some scenarios. Should be fixed in Plasma6.
