I could only reproduce this using non-indexed search (with baloo disabled), and searching on a folder with had a symlink to a different folder outside of its path, as the regular search follows symlinks when going into the folder tree. Is it possible that the subfolder you are searching in contains a symlink to the other directory where the results are shown from?
Waiting for confirmation that the path of items shown out of the search folder were not symlinked somewhere within the path
