Created attachment 130516 [details] Output from kdenlive on terminal and journalctl SUMMARY kdenlive crashes when attempting to render. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Put a clip on the timeline. 2. Render to a file (MP4 - H264/AAC) OBSERVED RESULT No file is generated. Rendering window shows "Rendering crashed". Error log on same windows shows "Rendering of [filename] crashed". EXPECTED RESULT Generation of an mp3 file with rendered video. Please try with the Kdenlive_Nightly_Appimage https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_Appimage_Build/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/ WARNING: This version has a new project type that is not backwards compatible... so you won't be able to use older versions to open new files.

Works! I tried it with my original project on the same machine, and I can verify it is not crashing. It now does generate the final mp4 file. I do see some compatibilities issues with older project versions, but I guess that's outside the scope of this thread. When will this version be pushed to distribution repos (dnf for Fedora ;))?
Glad to hear it works. This is implemented in Version 20.08.0. Try the AppImage or the PPA. Check out the 20.08.0 news on Kdenlive.org. We close this bug. If it still appears in the latest version, please feel free to re-open it and update the affected version number.
