In "Categories", under "Income", "Banking", you listed "Loan Principle Received" You need to replace the word "Principle" with the correct word, which is "Principal". The words "Principle" and "Principal" mean different things. Thanks for a great product!!!! Created attachment 130537 [details] attachment-21904-0.html Hah! That's funny, Chris! Even better, there was in fact no misspelling, the word Principle was correctly spelled. Instead, I should've said that the word "Principle" was erroneously used instead of the correct "Principal" I am taking the day off to reflect on my shame! All in good fun. Thanks for pointing that out, and stay safe and healthy. And to round this up, there's another misspelling on board of the subject: it is KMyMoney not MyKMoney. It is good to see, that we can still have a laugh, though. Stay safe.
Created attachment 130561 [details] attachment-17969-0.html Alright, fellows, now that we have established beyond a reasonable doubt that I could not spell properly to save my life, I have a quick question on whether I should report a bug or whether the behavior I'll describe below is as desired. Say I create an investment account, and then enter a few investments (securities) for said account. I then create another investment account, which will hold some of the same investments, therefore, as per the online KMyMoney documentation (/Using a Security in more than one Investment Account/) I just reuse the existing Securities I previously created. Thus far, everything works as it should. Now, here's the problem I am encountering: When I originally created these securities for my first Investment account, under "Price Entry" in the "Investment Detail Wizard" I changed from the "default" to "Total for all shares", and when adding entries to said original Investment account, this works well. However, even though I "reused" these Securities when making entries into my second Investment account, I find that this "Price Entry" field has reverted back to "default" for this second Investment account, while simultaneously remaining set to the correct "Total for all shares" for the original Investment account. Perhaps this was the desired behavior the KMyMoney team was looking for, but, IMHO, this is counter-intuitive, as "reusing" something implies faithfully inheriting all of the original object's properties. Let me know if I should report a bug or not. Thanks, and keep up the great work. I don't think there is a bug, although a wishlist for more consistent behavior might be possible. I think the problem is that the information about the preference between entering total price or price per share is stored with the account, not with the security itself. I think it would be more inconsistent for different securities in the same investment account to be handled differently. Right now, oddly, I can't find where the default behavior is set. Beyond that, it can be set for the Investment Account (under Account/Edit) and then separately for the Account for that security in that investment account. More oddly, I also find the same setting in the configuration for the underlying security (security vs equities tab in the Investments View.) In your case, I would start by checking if any of those three have been changed from the default.
Thank you for the quick response. herlock, even if you reply by mail, this ends up in our bug-tracker (which is not so good). Please do not hijack existing communication threads for a different/new subjects. You can find more options to contact support/developers on https://kmymoney.org/support.html. There, your question about opening a bug makes perfectly sense. Thanks in advance.
