Created attachment 130453 [details]
Empty string appears in klipper after first usage of Ctrl+C

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Chromium or other XWayland app
2. Mark text
3. Hit Ctrl+C

OBSERVED RESULT
empty string copied in klipper

EXPECTED RESULT
marked text copied in klipper

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian stable (10)
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: Plasma 5.19.80 (Current git master: 2020-07-28)
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.73.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
right click in Xwayland client and hit copy works as expected. Only Ctrl+C seems to copy nothing (or an empty string)
Hitting Ctrl+C a second time on the same or another XWayland client copies the string like it should and kipper shows the empty string copied before. (It is not listed there on first Ctrl+C press)

I can confirm this issue.
Comment 2 Méven Car 2020-08-03 14:08:05 UTC
Reproduced with firefox XWayland, and chromium with plasma-desktop/kwin from master 2020-08-03, but this is inconsistent: sometimes it works, sometimes it does not and sometimes it copies blank text instead of selection and I haven't found a clear reproducible way to reproduce.
