I have like 50-60 Apps and it's an eye sore to read daily text like "LibreOffice Calc" and "LibreOffice Writer" etc. I know what they look like so it would make sense to see "icons without text" or vice-versa. Some people like text and others (like me) hate text.
I wonder if a floating icons-only task manager or quicklaunch widget full of pinned apps might be a better solution than being able to turn off text for desktop icons.
...Indeed, I think it would. I don't think we'll be able to add this option, sorry. It would wind up being one of those ways for inexperienced or adventurous users to accidentally shoot themselves in the foot. I would recommend using a floating icons-only task manager or quicklaunch widget instead.
