Description Al 2020-07-22 00:11:15 UTC
Not getting ANY showing of my SD card in Dolphin. The SD card reader is built into the laptop and works on other operating systems. It even works on the other file browser on KDE ("files") but not Dolphin. I can navigate to its contents in Dolphin after mounting it in the other browser, by then navigating to /media/___/___ but the card doesn't show on the left panel. This is kubuntu 20.04.

It is not a filesystem issue (fails to show up with EXFAT/NTFS/FAT32) nor is it the card (works on other machines on windows and this machine with other browsers) nor is it KDE (directly, at least). Using 'lsblk' shows the device and the partition, but Dolphin still doesn't show it on the left panel. Finally, Dolphin is fully updated and so is the OS. On older versions of kubuntu I remember SD cards showing up on the left side (although still intermittently), however now I cannot get it to show up whatsoever. Thanks!

Could you please check if the storage device shows up with 'solid-hardware5 list' or 'udisksctl dump' terminal commands?

Sorry for the delay! Indeed it shows up under both commands. Let me know if any further details on the output would be helpful.

You've not by any chance (inadvertently or otherwise) hidden the panel's "Removable Devices" section?
Comment 4 Al 2020-10-30 08:55:12 UTC
Well done. Although I didn't have the "removable devices" section hidden (I always have 3 devices there, one of which is a second hard drive), I did have "show HIDDEN devices" unchecked in the dolphin menu. For some reason, this was hidden... After changing this setting, I unhid the card (not sure how it was hidden to begin with or if this was some sort of system default), and we appear to be good to go. Thanks again!
