SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE Make sure Kate is remembering open files after restart 1. open file (network share) 2. close kate 3. unmoutn network share 4. open kate -> "new file" message for already opened file 5. restore the mount 6. No warnings when selecting the file (tab) 7. save <file overwritten and original content lost Expected message with message "file is changed on disk"> 1. open file (network share) 2. unmount 3. mount 4. select the file (tab) 5. message the file was deleted with option to "close file", 6. "save as", "ignore". But reload button is missing. Case 1: Looks like the error is a little bit different (I'm accessing via ssh(fish) URL) but it does leave the filename at the top of the window then if you hit save the contents are now gone. Case 2: I couldn't reproduce this issue. When you say network share do you mean a samba mount?
