STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Press F3 to open the split view, the right pane will be focused.
The toolbar icon will tell you "Click to close the left view".

2. Go to the settings and check
"Turning off split view closes active pane" 
and save the settings.

OBSERVED RESULT

The toolbar icon is still the same. It will first alter once the active pane switched.

EXPECTED RESULT

It should change immediately.

Can confirm using Dolphin 20.11.70 on KDE Neon Unstable.
