For example:
Add an option to set the pixel format to “rgb24”, so edit and render in “rgb24”.

Hello,
For now, you can create a custom render profile in which you can pass any "melt" parameter you want.
In the future, we want to redesign the render window in which we could more freely pick the various options like format, video codec, audio codec... and why not pixel format!

Afaik, this has been implemented in latest version. Please test and reopen if it doesn't work for you.
