Description David 2020-07-16 16:48:57 UTC
SUMMARY

When creating an mbox mail resource (eg. to monitor the system mail spool in /var/mail), the Display Name field indicates that this string will be used to identify the resource in displays. However, when appearing in KMail, Kontact, or in Akonadi Console, the string "akonadi_mbox_resource_N" is used instead.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create mbox resource by any means (eg KMail create receiving mail account)
2. specify a valid mbox to watch (ie /var/mail/username)
3. Enter a discriptive string in Display Name

OBSERVED RESULT
Any listing of akonadi mail resources will will display akonadi_mbox_resource_X instead of the string entered in Display Name.

EXPECTED RESULT
The DisplayName QString should be used to identify the resource.

extra mbox in folder list

This shows the double listing of the added mbox
Comment 2 P Stemish 2020-07-25 21:10:58 UTC
I can confirm this, but after attempting to modify the mbox, it appeared under its proper name along with the akonadi_mbox_resource_N name, which is inoperable (clicking on the folder shows no messages.)

I also experienced the duplicated mbox entry, although for me they both were named with the akonadi_resource name, and neither appeared to be functional.
