SUMMARY I opened two gwenview windows, one on a folder on my thumb drive, one on my home folder, to compare the images in these folders. Then I wanted to close one of these windows from the task manager (the one which is by default in the Plasma panel), to remove the thumb drive. But the task manager said that both windows were on the home folder, which is wrong. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open two gwenview windows, each displaying a different image. 2. Hover the window items in the task manager to see which window displays which image. OBSERVED RESULT Task manager says that both windows show the same image (e. g. “3.1.jpg” and “3.1.jpg”). EXPECTED RESULT Task manager says which windows are actually shown in the windows (e. g. “3.1.jpg” and “20200716.jpg”). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Neon 5.19 KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71 Qt Version: 5.14.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Most window items in the task manager show the window title above the thumbnail, only for gwenview it is shown below the thumbnail. This lets me think that gwenview hides the window title from the task manager, and presents itself as kind of media player, but with wrong media information.
Can confirm with Gwenview 21.04.1 on Arch Linux.
I see that this issue also affects other applications, like Falkon. Open two windows, each playing a different internet video, the task manager will say that both play the same video. The system tray panel for media player control will show correct pages for both windows. So I think this issue belongs to the task manager and the media player component.
