Speaker Testing does Nothing

Go System Settings > Audio > Advanced (Speaker Placement and Testing) and click on the "Front Right" and "Front Left" buttons.

Result: no sound whatsoever comes out of the speakers.

Expected behaviour: sound should come out of the speakers, saying "front right", respectively "front left".

Can you please run 'kcmshell5 pulseaudio' from the command line and attach the outout here?
