Description Kishore Gopalakrishnan 2020-07-11 14:47:25 UTC
SUMMARY
'Folder specific configuration' in the baloo KCM shows a dropdown beside each folder, which offers two options: 'Full content indexing' and 'Not indexed'. This happens even when the 'also index file content' checkbox is disabled. My understanding is that you need to use the folder specific configuration to tell baloo to index folders outside the home directory. If that is the case, the options in the dropdown should simply be labelled 'indexed' and 'not indexed'

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to System settings > Search > File Search.
2. Add a folder to the folder specific configuration if one is not already added.
3. Click the dropdown next to the added folder

OBSERVED RESULT
The option in the dropdown to enable indexing of a folder is confusingly named 'full content indexing'.

EXPECTED RESULT
If the option just enables indexing of a particular folder, it should be labelled 'Indexed'.

Yeah, this was confusing and has already been changed to exactly what you propose for Plasma 5.20. :)
