SUMMARY First of all I must apologise if I post this issue here, but to be honest the bugreport interface is a nightmare with millions of entries! After 5 minutes of searching I started to pull my hair out to find which is the right category for this!!! All I want to simply report is that I am getting terrible lag with the kde interface using my new Quadro RTX 5000 card. Some of the facts: 1) Installation of Kubuntu 20.04 completely fails in normal graphics mode. The text printed on the screen during loading is completely covered with bad green pixel errors. Only 'safe graphics mode' installation is possible (if that's how it is called exactly) 2) Desktop Affects and the whole KDE experience is lagish. On this system I had an AMD Radeon 7 before, which worked very fine with Pop OS 19.10/20.04 Gnome + KDE Standard combo. 3) On a fresh Kubuntu 20.04 install the mouse size changes from giant to small and back based on which interface the mouse is on. I have to force a constant mouse size which I did not have to do before. 4) The entire DPI scaling seems to be off. Please see attached picture. I am using a 4k monitor in the middle, and two 2K monitor on the side in portrait position. NVIDIA Driver version is 440.100 which is the default that gets installed. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu/Pop OS 20.04 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.5 Qt Version: 5.12.8 Kernel: 5.4.0-7634-generic

I do not notice similar lag on a fresh Pop OS 20.04 install which uses gnome
Can we try to stick to one issue per bug report. 1) That's outside our control upstream in KDE I'm afraid 2) I do have reports on that, I'm sure I can find some duplicate to track that as 4) On X, only a single scale is supported. On our wayland session we support mixed scales. As for the lag, does this occur with and without compositing? (alt+shift+f12)
Thank you so much David for looking into this! 2) That would be fantastic. I just turned off 'Enable compositor on startup' and after restart i can say that it is improved when moving windows and browsing Application Launcher, but the issue is still there while switching applications for example. I work with Houdini (3D Application) and now it freezes the system for a second on opening and closing with having the compositor is off. This is something that was not the case before. Thanks again! Attila
