Description TheFuzzStone 2020-07-07 12:53:04 UTC
SUMMARY

After a fresh installation of Manjaro KDE 20.0.3, Plasma started to glitch (freezing) for ~10 seconds after I gave a little more "heavy load" to my notebook. The notebook was connected to the power grid.

By "heavy load" I mean copying 20Gb of data from Android to laptop.

As soon as the copy process started and I saw a notice about how the copy process was going, Plasma would periodically freeze, and sometimes the system just freezes for ~10 seconds, and there was nothing left but wait.

I also noticed that if I somehow interacted with Plasma, it only made things worse, like when I was adjusting the sound or brightness, because the logo/animation of the sound/brightness adjustment appeared on the screen and Plasma was freezing even more.

I was able to completely solve the problem by disabling 'tlp':

1) sudo systemctl stop tlp
2) sudo systemctl disable tlp
3) reboot

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Just copying some stuff and interact with Plasma components

Whilst copying did you have one of those spinning indicators in the tray?
