SUMMARY Virtual keyboard doesn't work under Wayland session with KDE plasma 5.19.2. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install plasma-wayland-session. 2. Choose kde plasma wayland session at login screen. 3. Enable virtual keyboard on taskbar. 4. Use the virtual keyboard. OBSERVED RESULT Virtual keyboard vanished when we use the virtual keyboard. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro/5.19.2 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71 Qt Version: 5.15
I've tried to use the virtual keyboard as well with Plasma Wayland on my Matebook tablet, but it doesn't work at all anymore. I can show it on screen, but typing is not possible. This worked some time ago, not sure when this regressed exactly as I've used it in the past only very seldom on a Dell XPS 13. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71.0 Qt Version: 5.15.0 Kernel Version: 5.4.50-1-lts OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ m3-6Y30 CPU @ 0.90GHz Memory: 3.8 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 515
Same issue here. Cannot confirm that this used to work, but since 5.19.0 keyboard never worked on wayland.
Same issue here. The keyboard opens as it should. However, it seems any tap (or click) on it is not caught by qtvirtualkeyboard but by the window just behind it. Tested with plasma 5.19.3, frameworks 5.72 on Arch-linux. It does work in an X11 session.
