Description Phos 2020-06-29 16:20:36 UTC
SUMMARY
Media keys/shortcuts do not work properly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use the media player plasmoid
2. Change from "choose player automatically" to something else (in my case I changed to audacious for music with firefox, I have plasma intergration)
3. Changing it back to "choose player automatically" does not fix the issue.

OBSERVED RESULT
Shortcuts such as pressing the media pause key stops working and reassigning the shortcut fails to fix the issue. Logout/login fixes the issue.

EXPECTED RESULT
Media shortcut keys work properly when pressed.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro 5.6.16-1
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am using the plasma intergration plugin.
Pause/play also does not work with wireless headphones.
Other media keys like next/previous do not work.

When it's in a broken state, what audio source is displayed in the Media Player system tray applet?

It breaks the moment you change it from "Choose player automatically" to something else. In my case I change it from "Choose player automatically" to "firefox" (when watching a youtube video), then it breaks. Changing it back to "Choose player automatically" does not fix the issue.
To clarify, it breaks the moment you change it to something other than "Choose player automatically"

It shows firefox whenever I change it to firefox. Then it breaks. It is not unique to firefox either, the same thing happens when you change it to audacious.

Since I haven't noticed this bug occurring recently, I'll assume it has been fixed
