Note the white box in the bin. 3. Try to play or drag onto timeline OBSERVED RESULT The file will not play nor can it be dragged onto timeline. EXPECTED RESULT Once dragged into the bin, the file should play in the viewer and allow editing in the timeline. This is a bug in MLT. Please try with AppImage 19.12.3 to see if it's happened there as well.
Can you please update to the latest version (https://kdenlive.org/en/download/) and report here whether this is still happening? If this still: occurs please try to disable proxies. Can you provide a (short) example clip to test?

After updating to the latest version, the problem was resolved. GoPro 8 clips now can easily be used in Kdenlive
