What Plasma version are you using, and do you remember in which version this started happening for you?
Comment 6 Alexandre Pereira 2020-06-30 19:32:24 UTC
I am using opensuse tumbleweed git packages.

I don't recall the exact date, but i would say at least two weeks now
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2020-06-30 20:44:28 UTC
Thanks, so this is a regression on master then.

Still cannot reproduce. If yo remove the following line from your plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc file:

[Containments][350][Wallpaper][org.kde.image][General]
Image=file:///usr/share/wallpapers/Next/contents/images/2560x1440.jpg

Does the problem get fixed? And if not, does that line re-appear?
Comment 8 Alexandre Pereira 2020-06-30 21:38:51 UTC
I removed the mentioned lines.

when I logged in, I customized some wallpapers and logged out.
logging in again, wallpapers are still default, but now the definitions on plasma shell file aren't written!

so no, the line does not reappear
Comment 9 Alexandre Pereira 2020-06-30 21:39:27 UTC
just some info:

The only "possible weird setup I might have" is that I have multiple monitors and use more than one activity.
Comment 10 Nate Graham 2020-06-30 21:48:30 UTC
Darn, thanks.
Comment 11 Alexandre Pereira 2020-06-30 21:54:58 UTC
well, i was hoping this was something that devs would reply " yeah we know, we are implementing this xxxx and it will work when its done ".

I it still giving problems, I can on the weekend try reverting back to specific commits and try to find what really broke this.
Comment 12 Nate Graham 2020-07-01 02:54:19 UTC
Yeah sorry to disappoint.
Comment 13 Alexandre Pereira 2020-07-01 20:20:44 UTC
ok, so as a quick work, i had locally this repo: https://invent.kde.org/pereiraalexandre/plasma-workspace, which is from 3 weeks ago.

This still loads the wallpapers. I will try to find out the exact cause !
Comment 14 Alexandre Pereira 2020-07-01 20:29:36 UTC
nevermind.... it seems the latest work on wallpaper made it work again.

so either I am mixing branches, or its fixed !

If you want, you ( or I , dunno who should be ) can close it as fixed. I will verify confirmation when opensuse git packages tomorrow arrive !
Comment 15 Alexandre Pereira 2020-07-19 12:24:18 UTC
Hum... I might seem to have mixed things, because this bug is still on effect, in wayland and x11!
Comment 16 Nate Graham 2020-07-19 14:56:31 UTC
What version of Plasma are you using? 5.19.x or git master?

retested this from git master, opensuse "KUF" repos from today.
Comment 18 Nate Graham 2020-07-19 22:51:56 UTC
Thanks. Still weird, still cannot reproduce with same git master on my system. :)
