Description William Kendrick 2020-06-23 05:53:31 UTC
There are a lot of components (products) of KDE and Plasma, and it can be overwhelming to figure out precisely which one is best for submitting a bug, when presented with a list of nearly 500 items (at https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi).

It would be nice if there were some top-level categories that products were placed in, and one's first choice when opening a new bug is to first pick the proper category -- e.g., "Games" ("bomber", "kanagram", ...), "Applications" ("kate", "kontact", ...), "Themes" ("Breeze", "Oxygen", ...), and so on.

Bugzilla does have 'Classifications', but there was some reason why it couldn't be enabled on bugs.kde.org
Comment 2 Ben Cooksley 2020-06-23 10:52:46 UTC
Would be nice if we could track down why, as I can't think immediately of why we would have not activated classifications.

This would be very nice indeed. Even mirroring the top-level categories in Gitlab would be a big improvement.
