SUMMARY The current default of the digital clock is to not display the date. To me that seems like a bad default as it is a common use case to want to know the current date. Also with the default panel height the clock alone has a pretty huge font, which could be mitigated a bit with displaying the date by default. Windows also has this as default and GNOME changed it to be default some time ago (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gsettings-desktop-schemas/-/merge_requests/2).
