Description Harri 2020-06-07 19:02:15 UTC
SUMMARY
Rendering an video with h264 or h265 is extremly slow when no filters are on the video. That means: When I render a video using any filter (even a dummy-"Transform" on Master Effects will do) it will take about 60 minutes for a 15 minute video. When I do the same video without any filter then rendering takes about 11 hours (11 times as much). Cpu usage is 100% on all cores in either case.
This strange effect is independent of the video, raw format and so on.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. render a short movie without any filter from mp4 input.
2. render the same movie using any filter, you can try "Transform" without giving it anything to do.
3. whatch the rendering times.

OBSERVED RESULT
rendering takes much longer without filter.

EXPECTED RESULT
rendering should take longer with filter.

This is odd, can you reproduce this in latest appimage?

well, as the latest appimages cannot render anything on openSuse 15.2 (see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430852) - i cannot reproduce this bug.

Would be nice to get some debugging, open a terminal, run kdenlive and render. What do you get?
