Created attachment 129114 [details] Layout file of the latte config I use SUMMARY At every login after a boot, I get a notification that desktops effect have been suspended by another application. After some tests, I have been able to find out that this "other application" is latte-dock. Furthermore, it only happens when I have background blur enabled on a dock. I use a panel-dock combo, they both have blur but the issue occurs only with the dock (booting with panel only doesn't disable desktop effects). I can successfully restart desktop effects with shift+alt+f12, but it is cumbersome to have to do it everytime. It happens with 0.9.11 stable as well as the "git" version from Manjaro repos (I can't figure which version it is... pamac says r4166.1dcf799d-1) Starting latte AFTER login doesn't trigger the problem. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Login after a boot with background blur on dock 2. That's it 3. OBSERVED RESULT Desktop effects get suspended EXPECTED RESULT Desktop effects don't get suspended SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0 Qt Version: 5.14.2 Kernel Version: 5.7.0-3-MANJARO OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-3840QM CPU @ 2.80GHz Memory: 15,3 GiB of RAM ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
UPDATE: It seems it is not related to dock-only blur after all. I disabled background on the dock and I got the problem again at boot. Sorry, it seems the issue doesn't happen ALL the time (I'd say 8/10), and didn't happen when I tried narrowing down the bug. Is there a way to find out where this bug comes from? Willing to help find out ;)
So I made a fresh install about a month ago, and I'm not using latte-dock since. The problem still sometimes appear. I've even prevented applications to disable desktop effects in the system settings... How can I trace what happened?
