SUMMARY As I'm the author of the syntax highlighting/folding for one of the most valuable programming languages (tm), I'd be interested to receive bug reports on this, should there be such. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. write a syntax XML file for kate/katepart 2. change your e-mail 3. see what happens OBSERVED RESULT one bug report in a decade EXPECTED RESULT 10 bug reports per year SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Unfortunately there's no way for you to receive bug reports for just that syntax highlighter, but I can cc you for all the syntax highlighting bugs. Would that be acceptable? Thanks for writing the syntax highlighter for Prolog, BTW!

If I can get the syntax definition prolog.xml I wrote, yes, because I remember I took great effort in comment and folding (region) handling, so I could help with such problems. My copy might be somewhere in my old computers, but... Remember there was such a bug in a more widely used one (shell/bash-script, C/C++?). This was not trivial so I guess many authors do it sub-optimal.
I have added you to the CC list for bugs filed to https://bugs.kde.org/buglist.cgi?component=syntax&list_id=1755950&product=frameworks-syntax-highlighting&resolution=---
