Description Myriam Schweingruber 2020-05-31 08:16:28 UTC
As of May 2020, even Debian has dropped support for Python 2, and sadly Bub has never been ported to Python 3.

In other words: on recent distributions it is impossible to use the Bup backup feature.

Suggestion: maybe get in touch with the Bup developers? I don't know if there are any alternative git-like backup tools out there

Operating System: Kubuntu 20.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8
Kernel Version: 5.4.0-34-generic
OS Type: 64-bit

Thomas, maintainer of kup debian package, contacted bup developers regarding this concern: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/bup-list/bXhVRnt_cXE
The way I see it it's not much to do but wait for this to get solved.

Is there any update on the issue? I too am facing the same issue for quite a time. Is there a workaround or something?
