4.2.9 was released many months ago and if animation playback didn't work then that would have been noticed by now.

Many people can play animations so this is probably not a bug.

It's more likely that you need some help and advice for this subject area.

Can you create a topic in the General Help section of the KDE Krita forum:

Someone will eventually reply and there will be a conversation with exchange of screenshots, etc.
