SUMMARY All other brushes and RGBA Brush in Color Mask work fine, except in lightness mask, it lags. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Choose a RGBA brush to use 2. Push F5 to bring up brush settings, under Brush Mask, change it to Lightness 3. Changing the name to make it more clear what you mean by lag.
Using the 26 May 5.0.0 prealpha appimage, I don't see any difference in lag between Mask, Colour and Lightness modes. The only time I see lag is if Canvas Graphics Acceleration is disabled and I use a large brush size. Then the lag is similar for all modes but better in Mask mode. Do you have Canvas Graphics Acceleration enabled and have Instant Preview enabled? Can you do Help -> Show system information for bug reports and paste the contents here?
