notification after we take a "Full screen" screenshot by pressing shift+print

SUMMARY
Shift+print shortcut is described as "Capture entire desktop" in "Shortcuts" section of Spectacle settings and Global Shortcuts module of System Settings when "Spectacle" app is selected. However, when we press such shortcut a Plasma notification says "Full screen captured", not "Entire desktop captured". And "Area" dropdown of Spectacle has no "Entire desktop" option, it has "Full screen" instead.
See the attached screenshots please.

EXPECTED RESULT
shift+print shortcut should be described as "Capture Full Screen" in "Shortcuts" section of Spectacle settings and Global Shortcuts kcm.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

Thanks for the report. Here's a patch: https://invent.kde.org/graphics/spectacle/-/merge_requests/4

Let's see if it will be merged into master :)

Fixed by https://invent.kde.org/graphics/spectacle/-/commit/526b1e907372a04c147846aa509aa378d9f84218 in Spectacle 20.12.0.

Now plasma notification says "Entire desktop" but the "Area" dropdown of Spectacle is still saying "Full screen".

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.73.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

Ugh. I'll revert that for now since clearly it isn't helpful. :(

If we want consistency, we essentially have two options:

1. Use the term "Entire Desktop" everywhere. Personally I'm not a huge fan of this because I think it's overloading the term "desktop" in a way that could be confusing. To a lot of users, the desktop is the thing that shows their wallpaper where they store files.

2. Show "Full Screen" or "All Screens" (depending on how many screens you have) everywhere, which is easy enough to do in Spectacle, but the name of the action that shows up in the global shortcuts KCM is tricky to conditionally rename.

Thoughts, folks?

Seems to be fixed now.

Still an issue on neon unstable.

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Comment 8 Patrick Silva 2023-11-17 20:39:41 UTC
The notification and the main window of Spectacle say "Full screen", shortcut settings (in Spectacle and System Settings) says "Entire Desktop".
