Description abhi 2020-05-24 05:02:45 UTC
SUMMARY

Essentially the issue I am currently facing is that all my work reimbursements are being recorded under reimbursable - work category. However, 1 of the transaction had to be split between personal and work, so I have selected a tag in the split editor. When I go to tags and try to find same item, I cannot find it. Has anyone else come across this issue or has it been fixed in new windows upcoming versions?

Please provide a bit more detail about what you are doing. In your new split transaction, what category and tag are you using for each split? When you say "go to tags" please specify exactly where you go, what you expect to see, and what you do see.

Hi Jack, thanks for your reply. I have added screenshots to explain this:

1 screenshot of a transaction in my HSBC account;
2 screenshot of how data has been input in kmymoney;
3 upon clicking on split transaction as you can see in screenshot 3. You will see, 1st part of transaction has a tag i.e. 'reimbursable - mgi Brisbane';
4 I then go to the tags;
5 Click on reimbursable - mgi Brisbane under Your tags section; and
6 I was expecting to see 44.25 from screenshot 3, but do not see it for the date i.e. 11/12/2019.

What are your thoughts?

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I just tried to duplicate this with the current head of stable development. A split transaction is shown in the tags view as requested. Looks like this problem has been resolved in the meantime.

Mate thanks for letting me know. Would it be worth waiting for new stable official release on windows platform or would you recommend downloading the stable release? I am guessing stable release would be in circa 5.08?
Comment 11 Thomas Baumgart 2020-06-08 12:34:55 UTC
5.0.8 is the current stable. We are working on polishing 5.1.0 which is due in a week. I am not sure though, when this becomes available for Win10.

@abhi, can you try testing with a stable 5.1.0 build from here https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/KMyMoney_Release_win64/ ?

Ok Dawid, I had checked this issue and see if it has been resolved under the following build: Version 5.1.0-2e0440ec0, all I can say is the splits are being shown in tags but shown as income instead. I have attached screenshot 7 for your review. Thanks Abhi [Please let me know if I need to provide any other details]

Abhi - when you respond, please change the status back to reported. Otherwise the Bug Janitor will eventually close it automatically.

I think things are actually working correctly, even if a bit confusing. It would help if it were clear from which View each screenshot were taken.

You made a payment to a pizzeria, and you made it a split transaction, and put a tag on one of the splits. That split was for the partial payment to the category of reimbursable:work (mgi brisbane). From the Tags View, selecting that tag, the column after the date is the category, even though the column head says account. In the context of the Category, the amount of that split IS income. Hopefully this now makes more sense.
