SUMMARY
In Virtual Desktop I'v set 8 desktops in two rows (4x2 layout). The number of rows are is ignored. Actual layout is 3x3 with one empty slot.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. add 8 virtual pulpits
2. set layout as 2 rows
3. switch to desktop-grid-view

OBSERVED RESULT
wrong layout of virtual desktops

EXPECTED RESULT
virtual desktop layout should be 4x2

Any chance either of you folks could check to see if it's fixed in Plasma 5.21?

I cannot test it because my plasma version is still 5.18.5.

I manage to find solution to that problem. Virtual desktops layout is ignored, however, number of virtual desktop rows could be forced in Desktop effects/Desktop Grid.

I'm not sure if it is a bug or feature... but it works for me in 8.18.x

JFYI you could potentially upgrade to Kubuntu 21.04 which has Plasma 5.21.

Cannot reproduce with Plasma 5.22 on Arch Linux.
