SUMMARY Updated TUmbleweed after a fix for systemsettings5, so far so good except the battery applet that lives in the systray is no longer present. I tried setting it to always show to see if that would fix it, but it still doesn't show itself. Tried manually adding the widget thinking something had been deleted. It doesn't show anything and instead tells me I have no battery. Although I am still able to toggle powersaving mode which is all I needed I thought I would report this anyway. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add the kde stable repos to openSuse Tumbleweed. 2. Update to latest versions after a zypper dup to change packages over to kde repos. 3. Boot up plasma. OBSERVED RESULT No battery icon in systray or it's drop down menu like usual. EXPECTED RESULT Battery icon should show in systray for the corresponding applet like it used to. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20200519 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 Kernel Version: 5.6.12-1-default OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz Memory: 15.4 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics 620
Restarting plasmashell brings it back. For some reason rebooting the machine doesn't though.
Seems to have fixed itself after another update.
It came back.
