SUMMARY After upgrading to Plasma 5.18.90, the powerdevil icon in the system tray disappears on each login despite having "Always show all entries" enabled. If I go to the system tray settings, set "Battery and Brightness" to "Disabled" and then back to "Shown when relevant", it reappears until the next login. This happens both on a laptop and a desktop equipped with a UPS. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Plasma 5.18.90 on a system with a battery 2. Reboot or logout and back in OBSERVED RESULT The battery icon is not present in the system tray. EXPECTED RESULT The battery icon should be present in the system tray. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70 Qt Version: 5.14.2
I see a similar issue but with the basket note pads icon. I have it set to always display. Basket is included in autostart and set to dock to the system tray. On next login the icon is no longer visible in the system tray. Changing the system tray setting away from 'Always display' and back, the icon becomes visible again until the next login. This is a regression in plasma 5.18.90. Had the same issue in the 5.18.90 version. The battery icon seems to be working properly on my system in the 5.19.1 version.
